The Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading has a worldwide reputation for producing designers who think.

Our students have keen analytical minds who enjoy solving problems verbally and visually, often working in teams. We use typography as a practical focus for exploring the many ways people communicate visually. Since design is part of the real world, so we also study history, theory and technology. We read a lot and write a lot. And of course we do a lot of designing.
